Student Parking

1. Register: Eligible students can register online via myETHS (one entry per student). Registration opens in May and closes in July. Students will be notified via email when registration opens.
    
2. Lottery and Notification: The lottery will take place in July using a randomized system. Only students who are registered will be included in the lottery. Students who are selected in the lottery will receive an email notification. Individual lottery results and status updates will be available on myETHS.
    
3. Parking Space Assignment: Students selected in the parking permit lottery are randomly assigned to a parking space on campus. Parking spots are numbered. The assigned parking spot cannot be changed.
    
4. Permit Purchase: Lottery winners must purchase their parking permit by the deadline indicated in their notification email via the ETHS Webstore. Payment must be made in full and all student account balances must be paid prior to the purchase of the permit. Student driver’s license and vehicle information will be required to complete the purchase, including make, model, color, VIN, and license plate number.
   
   Cost: $400 ($200 for students who qualify for Financial Assistance)
    
5. Permit Pick-up: Permits must be picked up in-person on designated dates in July and/or August as specified in your email. The student or a parent/guardian must bring the registered vehicle. The student’s valid driver’s license and proof of insurance for the vehicle must be presented in person. A valid parking sticker will be affixed to the vehicle by ETHS safety staff. Permits are assigned per vehicle and are non-transferable. 

Students with a valid parking permit who need to drive a different vehicle to school can request a temporary permit from the Safety Office. To replace a lost or damaged permit, a parent/guardian must submit a written request to asksafety@eths202.org. A $100 replacement fee applies.

ETHS student parking permits are a privilege and must be used responsibly. By purchasing a parking permit, students agree to follow the ETHS Student Parking Rules and Regulations outlined below. Failure to follow these rules may result in fines, loss of parking privileges, or disciplinary action.

General Rules

• Student parking is in effect from 6:00am to 4:00pm on school days.
• A valid ETHS parking permit must be displayed at all times on the registered vehicle.
• Students may only park in their assigned lot and designated student parking space.
• Parking permits are non-transferable and may not be shared, loaned, or sold.
• ETHS is not responsible for theft or damage to vehicles parked on school property.
   

Parking and Driving

• Students must follow all traffic laws and drive safely on campus.
• Speeding, reckless driving, or unsafe behavior may result in immediate revocation of parking privileges at the discretion of Safety Department staff.
• Vehicles must be parked within designated lines; blocking driveways, fire lanes, or other vehicles is prohibited.
• Students must park in their assigned spot to avoid parking tickets. Unauthorized vehicles or those parked in non-student areas may be ticketed or towed at the owner’s expense. Parking tickets issued on ETHS property are municipal tickets from the City of Evanston. If a student believes a parking ticket was issued in error, they must complete a Parking Ticket Void Request Form in the Safety Office (H102) located near Entrance 1.
• If another vehicle is parked in a student’s assigned spot, the student must immediately notify the Safety Department for guidance. Students may not park in another spot while the issue is being resolved.
• All ETHS parking lots have ADA accessible parking. Accessible parking spaces are reserved for vehicles with accessible parking placards or license plates.
• Overnight parking is only allowed with prior approval from the Safety Department. To request overnight parking, students must submit an Overnight/Extended Parking Request form in the Safety Office (H102) located near Entrance 1.
• Temporary or replacement permits are available through the Safety Department (fees may apply). Students must notify the Safety Department if they change vehicles during the school year.
• ETHS reserves the right to revoke parking privileges for excessive violations, safety concerns, or disciplinary reasons. Refunds will not be provided.
