Freshman and Sophomore Honor Society

The ETHS Freshman and Sophomore Honor Societies recognize scholarship, leadership, and character of service during a student's time at ETHS. 

Once all requirements are met and application materials have been processed, an invitation to the May induction ceremony will be sent to students and their families.

Eligibility Requirements
Grade Level Freshman and sophomore candidates must make first semester and third quarter honor rolls.
Grade Point Average (GPA) Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
Service Hours

Freshmen must complete five (5) total hours of community service: three (3) hours from April 2025 to end of Semester 1 and two (2) from winter break to April 10, 2026.

Sophomores must complete 10 total hours of community service:  seven (7) hours from April 2025 to end of Semester 1 and three (3) from winter break to April 10, 2026.

Engagement Participate in one sport, club, or extracurricular activity (can be outside of ETHS).
Recommendation Be recommended by a sponsor/coach of a sport, club, or organization.

How to Apply for ETHS Freshman Honor Society 

Students who have earned Honor Roll status at the end of the first semester will be invited to apply to the Freshman Honor Society in February. Eligible students and their families will be notified via mail and email. Students must be logged into their eths202.org account to complete the application form.

Overview of Application Process
  1. Submit the Freshman Honor Society Application (only accessible via the student's eths202.org account)
    • Once submitted, an auto-reply email confirms receipt of application.
    • Application deadline is April 17, 2026. No late submissions will be accepted.
  2. Make Honor in the first semester and maintain a 3.0 grade point average (GPA) for the third quarter.
  3. Participate in a sport, club, or extracurricular activity and be recommended by the sponsor/coach. This participation can be outside of ETHS.
  4. Complete five (5) total hours of community service over two semesters: three (3) hours from April 1, 2025 to the end of Semester 1 and two (2) additional hours from winter break to April 10, 2026.
    • Submit hours to the ETHS Community Service Office via SchooLinks or a paper form.
    • Check the Community Service Transcript (Experience Tracking) on SchooLinks to verify the hours added.

Applications will not be accepted beyond the submission deadline. ETHS will honor freshmen who complete thet Honor Society application process at an induction ceremony on Wednesday, May 13, 2026. Invitations to the event will be sent out to students and families in late April/early May.

How to Apply for ETHS Sophomore Honor Society 

Students who have earned Honor Roll status at the end of the first semester will be invited to apply to the Sophomore Honor Society in February. Eligible students and their families will be notified via mail and email. Students must be logged into their eths202.org account to complete the application form.
