First Day of School Guide

Students should come prepared with:

• Your Chromebook, fully charged

• Your Chromebook charger
• Basic school supplies, such as a notebook, folder, pens, and pencils
• A water bottle, if desired

You do not need to have every school supply for every class on the first day. Teachers will let students know about any additional materials they may need.

Campus Student is the student portal for Infinite Campus, our new student information system. Campus Student has replaced both myETHS and Home Access Center. Students can log into Campus Student using Google SSO. You will use Campus Student to view schedules, grades, attendance, and more. If you have a mobile device, we recommend downloading the Campus Student app.

For help logging in to Campus Student or accessing their student email, students should email chromezone@eths202.org. Parents/guardians who need help logging in to Campus Parent should email portalhelp@eths202.org

Students can access their Student ID in Campus Student using their Chromebook or cell phone. To access your Student ID:

1. Open the Campus Student app or visit Campus Student online.
2. Log in using your ETHS account using Google SSO.
3. From the Home screen, access your Student ID.

Tip: If you have a mobile device, we recommend downloading the Campus Student app and logging in before the first day of school so your Student ID is easy to access.

What Your Student ID is Used For:

• Building Entry: Required for scanning in at entrances.
• Cafeteria: Needed for entry and to purchase meals and food items.
• Access to School Spaces: Many common spaces at ETHS require scanning for entry.
• Events & Activities: Required for entry to school events.

Note: ETHS will no longer issue physical ID cards to all students. Students who need a physical ID card may visit the ID Center (W104) and will receive one free of charge.

Schedules are available in Campus Student. To view your schedule, log in to Campus Student using Google SSO (linked to your ETHS Google account) and select Schedule from the menu.

Some schedules may appear to be incorrect or incomplete at this time as updates continue to be made. Schedules will be updated throughout the weekend, and adjustments may occur before the first day of school. For example, some students may not yet have a lunch assignment listed. Students should check Infinite Campus again on Monday morning to make sure they are viewing the most current version of their schedule.

Missing or Incomplete Schedule
If you are unable to access your schedule in Infinite Campus or your schedule appears incomplete on Monday morning, please report to the Welcome Center (E112) when you arrive at school. This does not mean you will be unable to attend classes. Staff will be available to help you access your schedule, identify where you need to go, and assist with any scheduling or registration issues.

The first day of school will follow our regular Wildkit Monday schedule, with classes beginning for all students at 8:30am. This is a change from previous years, when we used a split schedule for the first day. Students should plan to arrive on time and be ready to start the school year together. Tip: You can view a live bell schedule by visiting ethsbell.app. The site shows the current class period, daily bell times, and where we are in the school day, making it a helpful resource to bookmark and reference throughout the year. You can also visit pe.ethsbell.app to see where your PE class is meeting that day.

We know that finding classrooms can be stressful, especially for students who are new to ETHS. If you need help finding your way, ask any staff member or Student Ambassador. To our newest Wildkits, don’t stress, teachers understand that you are learning your way. 

At ETHS, room numbers are organized by building wing and floor. This system helps students and visitors quickly locate classrooms and offices.

The first letter indicates the wing of the building:

N = North Wing (Red)
S = South Wing (Green)
W = West Wing (Orange)
E = East Wing (Light Blue)
A = Arts Wing (Yellow)
H = Heritage Hall (Dark Blue)

The number indicates the floor and specific room:

100s = first floor
200s = second floor
300s = third floor

For example, S215 would be a room on the second floor of the South Wing.

Students should bring their district-issued Chromebook and charger to school every day. Personal devices (including personal laptops and tablets) are not permitted for classroom use and will not be able to connect to our wifi network.

Chromebook Pickup
New students who have not yet picked up their Chromebooks should visit the ChromeZone (H220) before school, beginning at 7:45am, or during a free block or lunch block.

Replacement Charger
If you need a new Chromebook charger, the replacement fee is $15. Students must first pay the fee at the Business Office (H108), then bring the receipt to the ChromeZone (H220) to receive a new charger.

ETHS Nutrition Services offers a variety of meal options throughout the school day:

Note: The after-school meals are available free of charge to all students (regardless of meal status) every day in the South Cafeteria. Stop by to grab something to eat before going to practice, a club meeting, work, or home.

Students can pay for school meals using their Campus Student ID or a credit/debit card. Please note that cash is not accepted in ETHS cafeterias. For more information, visit eths202.org/meals.

Add Funds to a Student Lunch Account
Students and families can add money to student meal accounts through the Campus Student and Campus Parent portals using the Food Service tool. The Food Service tool also allows families to view account balances and see meals and food items purchased.

To add money:

1. Select Pay.
2. Enter the amount you would like to add in the Amount field.
3. Select Add to Cart.
4. Select My Cart to proceed to checkout.
5. Choose your Payment Method and enter an Email Address for Receipt (optional).
6. Select Submit Payment.

Students are assigned to a cafeteria during their lunch block. Please check your schedule for your assigned cafeteria location. Please have your Student ID ready to scan for entry.

Students may also use other designated campus spaces during lunch or free blocks (see list below). Students in Grades 10-12 have open campus privileges and may leave campus during their lunch/free blocks unless they are on social probation.

As a security measure following the June cybersecurity incident, some student account passwords were reset. Students who are unable to access their accounts can request a password reset link by emailing chromezone@eths202.org or receive in-person assistance in the ChromeZone (H220) during school hours.

Two-factor authentication is now required for all student Google accounts, to strengthen account security. Students who do not have a personal device for authentication can receive support through the ChromeZone.

Locker assignments and combinations can be viewed in Campus Student. Note: New students may not see their locker assignments until Monday. If you need help locating your locker, please ask a Safety staff member. Safety staff members wear orange polos and be found in the hallways on every floor.

To open your locker, follow these steps:

1. Turn RIGHT two full turns and stop at the first number.
2. Turn LEFT one full turn past the first number and stop at the second number.
3. Turn RIGHT to the third number and continue until it opens.
4. To re-lock, close the door and turn the dial LEFT one full turn only.

All students enrolled at ETHS are eligible to receive a Student Ventra Card, which provides access to Student Reduced Fares on CTA buses and trains and PACE buses.

Purchase a New Student Ventra Card
Student Ventra Cards cost $2 and are issued directly by ETHS. New students can purchase a card during New Student Pickup Days (August 6-7) or at New Student Orientation. During the school year, cards can be purchased through the Business Office (H108).

Renew Your Student Ventra Card
Students do not need to purchase a new Student Ventra Card each year. The card is valid for five years; however, students must renew their Ventra privileges each fall to continue receiving the student fare. To renew your Ventra Card, please complete the renewal form.

At ETHS, our classrooms are spaces for learning, connection, and focus. To help students make the most of their time in class, students are expected to store their cell phones for the duration of the block.

Daily Expectations 

• When you walk in (or by the time the bell rings), you’ll need to silence your phone and place it in your assigned slot in the classroom phone holder.
• Take off and put away your headphones or earbuds, too, even if they’re not connected to your phone. They should be out of sight during class.
• Phones and earbuds stay in the pouch for the entire block.
• You can’t take your phone with you if you leave the room (for example, to go to the bathroom or get a drink of water).
• You’ll pick up your phone when the bell rings.

If you will be absent from school, a parent/guardian must report the absence by submitting an absence request through the Campus Parent portal or by calling the Attendance Line at (847)424-7800.
