Student Government

Student Council is a group of students who work together with adult advisors to make school more fun and meaningful. It’s a chance to build leadership skills by organizing cool events and helping out with service projects. Besides planning things like Homecoming and spirit weeks, Student Council is also the voice for students — sharing your ideas, interests, and concerns with the whole school. It’s a great way to get involved and make a difference! 

If you're a sophomore or junior and want to make a real difference at school, consider running for Student Representative in the spring! It’s a great way to speak up for your classmates and help improve our school community. As the Student Rep, you’ll attend weekly Student Union meetings and monthly School Board meetings. Elections happen in the spring before the school year you’d serve, so start thinking ahead!

To make sure everyone has a fair chance in student elections, there’s a $100 limit on how much money can be spent on a campaign. This includes everything like flyers, posters, websites, t-shirts, and any other campaign stuff — even if someone else donates or buys it for you, it still counts toward the $100 limit. If you want to run but can’t afford to spend that much, talk to the Director of Student Activities to see if you qualify for assistance.

Student Union is a group of student volunteers led by the Student Representative, who is also the Student Union President. Together, they work with school staff to come up with ideas to improve school rules and policies. In the past, they’ve worked on things like updating the dress code, making it easier to clear tardy detentions, and changing homework rules. They also organize the yearly Student Voice Forum, where students can talk directly with school leaders about their concerns. Student Union meets every week and is open to all grades—everyone’s welcome to join!
