Clubs & Activities

At ETHS, there is a club or activity for everyone. With over 100 student organizations and extracurricular opportunities, students can explore their interests, meet new people, and build skills beyond the classroom. Whether you’re into robotics or poetry, activism or anime, music or mock trial—there’s a place for you here.

The Student Activities Office is the central hub for our 80+ clubs at ETHS. We appreciate the work you do in creating a vibrant club community and look forward to helping you find yourself here.

What are Clubs at ETHS?

Clubs at ETHS are school-sponsored student organizations that meet regularly to focus on specific interests, hobbies, or causes. They provide an opportunity for students to connect with others who share similar passions, explore new ideas, and build skills outside of the classroom. Each club has at least one club sponsor—an ETHS staff member who serves as an advisor and chaperone to all club meetings, activities, and events.

Joining a club is a great way to make new friends, engage in meaningful activities, and contribute to the school community. Whether you’re looking to build your resume, explore a potential career path, or just have fun, clubs are a great way to enrich your high school experience.

How to Start a New Club

If you have an idea for a club that doesn’t exist yet, you can start one! ETHS encourages students to create new clubs that reflect their interests and passions. Here’s how:

  • Find Potential Members: New clubs must have at least 10 ETHS student members to get started. Only current ETHS students can participate. Make a list of students who would be interested in joining the new club.

  • Find a Sponsor: Every club must have an ETHS staff member who serves as the sponsor. Find an ETHS staff member who is willing to serve as the club sponsor. They will help support and guide your club.

  • Complete a Club Proposal: Fill out a New Club Proposal Form. You’ll be asked to share your club’s purpose, goals, and plans for meetings and activities.

  • Submit Your Proposal: Turn in your completed proposal to the Student Activities Office for review. They’ll work with you to make sure your club fits within ETHS guidelines and supports student involvement.

  • Wait for Approval: All new club proposals must be reviewed and approved by the Director of Student Activities before you can begin meeting or promoting your club.

Deadline to Submit a Proposal

First Semester: October 10 (for clubs to begin no sooner than November 1)
Second Semester: February 1 (for clubs to begin no sooner than March 1)
Future Planning: April 1 (for club to begin next fall)

Starting a club is an exciting way to leave your mark at ETHS and help build community. If you have questions or need help finding a sponsor, stop by the Student Activities Office in The Hub or email studentactivities@eths202.org
