Residency Verification
To attend Evanston Township High School, students must reside within District 202 boundaries. Residency verification is required for all incoming freshmen, transfer students, and returning students to ensure that students meet this eligibility requirement. This means that parents/guardians must provide proof of residency every year. ETHS reserves the right to investigate residency status at any time.
Why do we have to verify residency?
Since public schools are funded by local taxpayer dollars, this process helps us uphold our responsibility to protect community resources and ensure that funding is directed to students who are entitled to it based on where they live. A student will not be able to attend ETHS if residency cannot be verified.
Required Documents
To verify your residency, you must provide one document from Category A and two documents from Category B. All documents must be current (dated within the last 60 days) and show the name and address of the student’s parent/guardian.
In addition, if your name is not on the mortgage or rental agreement, you must submit a fourth document, the Residency Attestation Form.

How to Verify Residency for Returning Students
Residency verification is required annually for all returning students. To submit your proof of residency, follow these steps:
Residency verification was previously completed online through Home Access Center, which is no longer available. As a temporary workaround, families may submit the required documents by email (addressverification@eths202.org) or in person at the Registrar’s Office (S127). Please review the information below for details about the required documents and how to submit them.
How to Submit Documents
- Email: Scan and email required documents as attachments to addressverification@eths202.org. Please send one document from Category A and two documents from Category B.
- Drop off: Drop off copies of the required documents at the Registrar’s Office (S127). Please enter through Entrance 2 located on Wildkit Drive.

If Your Family is Experiencing Homelessness
If you do not have a fixed, regular, and adequate nighttime residence, your student may qualify for protections under the McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act. This includes the right to enroll in school without delay, even without all normally required documents, such as proof of residency.
