Nutrition Services

The Nutrition Services Department at Evanston Township High School is committed to providing high-quality, nutritious meals that support the overall health and academic success of our students. Our team prepares approximately 300 breakfasts and 2,000 lunches each day for ETHS students, and also prepares about 1,800 lunches daily for District 65 elementary schools.

ETHS participates in the federally funded National School Lunch Program and School Breakfast Program. These programs are administered by the U.S. Department of Agriculture through the Illinois State Board of Education to ensure that all meals are well-balanced, age-appropriate, and meet strict nutrition standards—including a focus on whole grains, fruits, vegetables, and meals that are low in fat and sodium. Our team continually strives to improve the quality and nutritional value of every meal served.

ETHS Local Garden & Farm-to-School Programs

ETHS proudly grows much of its own produce through the Edible Acre gardens, managed in partnership with The Talking Farm. These organically grown fruits and vegetables are used in school meals year-round. Through hands-on student involvement, sustainable farming practices, and partnerships with local producers, we promote healthier eating and environmental stewardship.
