Financial Assistance

Evanston Township High School offers financial assistance to help families with school-related costs, including discounted or free meals, activities, and events. Families must submit an application every year to determine eligibility as determined by federal income guidelines.

Apply for Financial Assistance

To apply, please complete a Financial Assistance Form online. If approved, your student(s) will qualify for discounts on:

  • School meals (free or reduced breakfast, lunch, after-school meal)
  • School fees
  • AP and ACT Exam fees
  • Summer sports camps
  • Parking permits
  • And more

Eligibility for Financial Assistance

To qualify, families must meet one of the following criteria:

Eligibility Category How Eligibility is Determined
Household Income and Size Based on your total household income and size in the month the application is submitted, or the month prior.
Participation in Assistance Programs Household is directly certified through an assistance program (such as SNAP or TANF) in coordination with the State of Illinois. If you participate in SNAP or TANF, there is no need to submit a form. Your students are automatically approved.
Student Housing Status

Your child is identified as foster, homeless, migrant, or runaway.

Note: Your U.S. citizenship or immigration status does not affect your Financial Assistance eligibility.

Automatic Approval for Financial Assistance

If you received a letter from ETHS stating that your children were automatically approved (directly certified) for financial assistance for the upcoming school year, this means someone in your household participates in one of the following programs:

  • Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)

  • Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF)
  • Food Distribution Program on Indian Reservations (FDPIR)

If this applies to your family, you do not need to submit a Financial Assistance Form. Your family is already approved for financial assistance.

How to Apply

The Financial Assistance Form must be completed online. You only need to complete one (1) application per household. To apply, follow these steps:

  1. Submit a Financial Assistance Form online at eths.schoollunchapp.com. List all high school-age students in your household in one application.
  2. After applying, you can check your application status online using your login credentials.
  3. For questions or help applying, contact the Nutrition Services Department at (847)424-7225.

Note: If your family is directly certified for financial assistance because someone in your household participates in SNAP, TANF, or FDPIR, you do not need to submit an application. Your family is already approved for financial assistance.
