Elections

The Evanston Township High School District 202 Board of Education is composed of seven members who are elected at-large by the community. Board elections are an important way for residents to have a voice in the leadership and governance of our school.

Election Schedule

Board members are elected during the Consolidated Election on the first Tuesday in April of odd-numbered years. Elections are non-partisan, and all voters within the district may vote for any candidate(s) on the ballot.

Term Length

Board members serve four-year terms, with elections staggered so that three or four seats are contested at each election. A Board Member receives no salary and may seek re-election to an unlimited number of terms.

Election Process

Candidates run at-large, meaning they do not represent specific geographic areas within the district. Voters can select any candidate(s) on the ballot. The election is non-partisan, and candidates must file a Statement of Economic Interests and a nominating petition signed by at least 50 registered voters or 10% of the voters, whichever is less.
