Youth Job Center
Since 1999, Evanston Township High School has proudly partnered with the Youth Job Center (YJC) to support our students in preparing for the workforce and exploring career opportunities. The YJC has an on-site office at ETHS, providing dedicated services tailored to help our students succeed.
We value this long-standing collaboration and encourage students to take advantage of the resources and personalized support offered by the Youth Job Center right here on campus.
Services
YJC helps ETHS students find jobs, internships, and career opportunities while offering valuable services such as career coaching, job readiness training, and support with resumes and interviews. They work closely with students to build skills and confidence for the workforce.
Services include:
- One-on-one career coaching
- Job placement assistance with local employers
- Support securing internships and other career-related experiences
- Training on workplace skills and professionalism
- Help navigating applications and employment documents
- Resume guidance and interview preparation
- Connection to training programs and certifications
- Support navigating employment paperwork and workplace responsibilities
The Youth Job Center’s goal is to empower students to become career-ready and financially independent through meaningful work experiences and personalized support.
YJC Career Advisor at ETHS
Peter Escobar, Youth Job Center’s Career Advisor, works on-site at Evanston Township High School in partnership with the school community. He collaborates with students, school leadership, teachers, and counselors to support young people in exploring career paths that fit their interests, skills, strengths, and passions.
Peter works with students of all grade levels. His curriculum, backed by years of success with youth from diverse backgrounds, guides students through each step of the career pathway process. In addition to career exploration, Peter helps students develop executive functioning skills that support them in overcoming challenges throughout their lives.
