Transcripts
A transcript is an official record of a student’s academic history at Evanston Township High School. It includes a list of all the courses a student has taken at ETHS, the grades earned, credits received, GPA, and other key information such as graduation status and test scores. Transcripts are confidential records and can only be shared with your permission in accordance with state and federal law.
Transcripts are often required when:
- Applying to colleges and universities
- Enrolling in summer programs or internships
- Registering for NCAA eligibility
- Transferring to a new school
- Applying for jobs or scholarships
Types of Transcripts
Official Transcript
An official transcript is a certified record of your academic history, including courses, grades, GPA, and graduation status. It is sent directly from ETHS to the college, employer, or organization requesting it—either electronically through a secure service like Parchment or in a sealed envelope. If the seal is broken or the document is handled by anyone other than the recipient, it is no longer considered official.
Unofficial Transcript
An unofficial transcript contains the same academic information as the official version, but it is not certified or sealed. Students and families can view or download unofficial transcripts through Home Access Center (HAC) or request a printed copy for personal use. These are typically used for reference, planning, or internal purposes—not for college admissions or job applications.
