Transcript & Application Documents
All transcript and document requests must be entered in SchooLinks by the student.
If you have taken high school courses outside of ETHS (e.g. transfer students), ETHS must also submit an official transcript from each of those previous schools to every college you apply to. Make sure your counselor has a copy of all previous transcripts.
ETHS School Profile & School Report Form
The ETHS School Profile and the appropriate School Report Form are automatically submitted along with your transcript.
Mid-Year (7th Semester) Transcripts
Seventh-semester (mid-year) transcripts are sent automatically to every college for which you have submitted a transcript request in SchooLinks.
ACT/SAT Test Scores
Important: ETHS does not send ACT or SAT test scores to colleges. To send official test scores, you must request them directly from the testing agencies:
-
ACT: www.act.org
-
SAT: www.collegeboard.org
-
If you did not request score reports when registering for the test, you can log in to your ACT or SAT account to have them sent later.
-
Need help? Ask your counselor or the College & Career Services staff for assistance.
Counselor Recommendations
Counselors write recommendation letters using the information you provide in SchooLinks:
- Complete the Pre-Recommendation Survey and Resume in SchooLinks within 72 hours of submitting a counselor recommendation request.
- Allow your counselor at least four weeks to write your letter—plan ahead!
Teacher Recommendations
Teacher recommendation requests are handled separately from counselor recommendations:
-
Ask your teacher first to confirm they’re willing to write your letter.
-
After they agree, submit your request in SchooLinks.
-
If your recommender is not a current ETHS teacher and does not have a SchooLinks account, you can manually add them. They will receive an email with instructions on using the SchooLinks Recommendation Portal to upload their letter.
Common App Account Matching
To send transcripts and documents to Common Application schools, you must complete the Common App Account Matching Process:
-
Create a Common App account at www.commonapp.org using the exact same name you used in your SchooLinks account.
-
In your Common App account:
-
Complete the “Current or Most Recent Secondary/High School” section in the Education tab.
-
Add at least one college to your My Colleges list.
-
Read and sign the FERPA Release Authorization in the Recommenders & FERPA section of the My Colleges tab.
-
-
Go to your SchooLinks account -> Colleges Applications Page -> complete the Common App Matching Process.
-
Instructions and a video tutorial are available to guide you.
-
Reminder: ETHS cannot send transcripts or documents to Common App schools until you complete this process.
Self-Reported Academic Record (SRAR)
Some colleges require students to self-report their academic records rather than sending official transcripts right away. Colleges that currently require SRAR include (but are not limited to):
-
University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign
-
Illinois State University
-
University of California system (application period Nov. 1–30)
-
University of Minnesota
-
Iowa State University
Always confirm SRAR requirements on each school’s official website, as policies may change.
