Student Teaching

Student teacher/intern placements at Evanston Township High School District 202 are considered for individuals enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program who are attempting to secure their culminating field experience.

To request a student teacher/intern/field experience placement:

A college/university official overseeing the student's program must send a placement request on behalf of the student via email to the office of the Associate Principal for Instruction & Literacy. Students should not contact ETHS teachers or staff directly. Placement request emails from the college should include:

  • Official college placement request letter, including dates of placement and subject area, and response form
  • Applicant resume
  • Applicant unofficial transcripts
  • Applicant personal statement (one page) on why he/she has chosen teaching or related field as a profession
  • Any other information the college has about the applicant and host teacher requirements for the placement

Please take a look at our academic departments to identify where you'd like to complete your student teaching. Please take a look at our course offerings to make sure we offer classes that align with your major. Please take a look at our regular bell schedule, so you are aware of how our classes are structured.

The review process may take up to 15 working days for a decision to be made whether to accept or decline the candidate. Accepted applicants will be required to complete and pay for a background check through ETHS. Please contact Ms. Woods for current information regarding the cost of background checks.
