Research & Survey Proposals
Evanston Township High School District 202 supports research that contributes to the improvement of school processes, student learning, and the broader field of education. While educational research is supported, all studies must be balanced against the district’s objectives and priorities. All research, including surveys, interviews, and other data collection, must:

Comply with district policies and applicable state and federal laws

Receive prior review and written approval from the Office of Research, Evaluation, & Assessment
These requirements apply to research conducted by district employees, departments, committees, or external researchers.
Research Agenda
ETHS seeks to understand student experiences and the impact of policies and programs on outcomes. All research requests must align with the district's mission and values. Results from approved studies are intended to inform district policies, procedures, and instructional practices.

How to Submit a Proposal
All proposals to conduct research or a survey in the district must be submitted and reviewed by the Office of Research, Evaluation, & Assessment. To submit a proposal:

Submit a written proposal following the guidelines to the Office of Research, Evaluation, & Assessment.

Be prepared to answer questions or revise your proposal as requested.

Research requests for a given school year must be submitted by December 15. Requests submitted after this date will be considered for the following school year.
The timeline for approval may vary depending on the scope and complexity of the proposal.
