Research, Evaluation, & Assessment
The Office of Research, Evaluation, & Assessment at Evanston Township High School is dedicated to supporting data-driven decision-making to improve student learning and school operations. The department collects, analyzes, and reports data to inform instructional strategies, evaluate programs, and guide policy decisions. In addition, the department coordinates standardized testing programs, such as the ACT and AP Exams.

| Support for Instruction | Collaborate with teachers and departments to use data to inform teaching practices, identify areas of need, and track student growth. |
| Research & Survey Oversight | Review and approve all surveys and research conducted within the district, ensuring alignment with district priorities and compliance with ethical and legal standards. This includes studies by district employees, departments, committees, and external researchers. |

Research & Survey Proposals
ETHS encourages research that helps improve student learning, programs, and school policies. All surveys and research conducted within the district must align with the school’s goals, support equity, and receive prior approval from the Office of Research, Evaluation, & Assessment.
Approved research helps the district understand student experiences, evaluate programs, and inform decisions that enhance learning and reduce disparities. Whether conducted by district staff, committees, or external researchers, every study must meet ethical standards and comply with district, state, and federal policies.
