Nondiscrimination Policy
Evanston Township High School District 202 is committed to providing an educational environment that is free from discrimination, harassment, and retaliation. All members of the ETHS community deserve to learn or work in an environment in which they are treated with dignity and respect.
In accordance with federal (Title VI, Title IX, Americans with Disabilities Act, Section 504, and Age Discrimination Act), state, and local laws, ETHS does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, disability, age, religion, or any other legally protected status in admission into, access to, or treatment within its educational programs or activities, or in employment.

- Equal Opportunity: All students and employees have the right to participate in the school’s programs, activities, and services without discrimination or harassment. We ensure that our admissions, academic programs, extracurricular activities, and employment opportunities are open and accessible to all, regardless of their protected characteristics.
- Nondiscriminatory Education: ETHS is dedicated to providing equitable opportunities for academic achievement, including accommodations for students with disabilities, Multilingual Learners, and other students with specialized needs.
- Harassment-Free Environment: ETHS maintains a zero-tolerance policy towards discrimination, bullying, or harassment in any form, including sexual harassment. Any acts of discrimination, harassment, or retaliation will be promptly investigated and addressed in accordance with Board Policy 2:260.
- Reasonable Accommodations: Reasonable accommodations will be provided upon request for persons with disabilities who wish to participate in ETHS events or activities. Please contact the department at least three working days prior to the activity.
- Complaints and Grievances: Any individual who believes they have been subjected to discrimination or harassment may file a complaint with the school administration. ETHS is committed to resolving complaints in a timely and impartial manner. For more information, view Board Policy 2:260.
If I have a concern, what should I do?
If you are a student, parent/guardian, employee, or community member who needs to raise a concern of harassment or discrimination, please notify your student’s Dean and/or submit the Incident Reporting Form (Formulario de Reporte de Incidentes).
This form provides an opportunity for ETHS community members to notify us of concerns that we need to address. If you experience or witness concerning behaviors, you are encouraged to report them.
